My Journey
For 25 years, I served in the United States Army. During most of that time, I served as a Green Beret, where precision mattered, reliability was expected, and trust could never be compromised. Those principles became the foundation of Polemistis Watch Company. I didn't build Polemistis to create just another watch brand. I built it for people who believe a watch should represent the character they live by, the purpose that drives them, and the legacy they will leave behind.
Long before I ever imagined building a watch brand, I was fascinated by mechanical watches. There was something remarkable about the craftsmanship that went into creating a machine capable of measuring time with incredible precision. Unlike many of today's disposable products, a well-made mechanical watch is built to last generations. It becomes part of your story.
Throughout my military career, I learned that every piece of equipment must earn your trust. Reliability wasn't simply a desirable feature, it was essential. Those experiences changed the way I looked at craftsmanship. Whether it was a mission, a piece of equipment, or a mechanical watch, excellence was never accidental. It was the result of discipline, attention to detail, and refusing to compromise.
After retiring from the Army, I continued collecting watches and studying the art of horology. I admired the heritage of the great Swiss watchmakers, but I also saw an opportunity. Too many watches had become fashion accessories, built for trends rather than longevity. I believed there was room for something different, a company built on timeless values rather than passing styles.
That vision became Polemistis.
The name Polemistis is the Greek word for "warrior." To me, being a warrior extends far beyond military service. It represents men and women of character, people who lead with integrity, persevere through adversity, honor their commitments, and strive to leave the world better than they found it. Whether you're a veteran, first responder, business owner, pilot, craftsman, or someone quietly overcoming life's challenges, the warrior spirit is defined by how you live, not by the uniform you wear.
Every Polemistis watch reflects that philosophy. We work with trusted partners to create Swiss Made timepieces and watches assembled in the United States using premium components and proven Swiss or American movements. Our focus is never on producing the most watches, it is on producing watches worthy of being worn for a lifetime and eventually passed on to the next generation.
When someone chooses a Polemistis watch, they aren't simply purchasing another timepiece. They are investing in something designed to mark the milestones of their life, a promotion, a retirement, the birth of a child, a personal victory, or the beginning of a new chapter. Those are the moments that deserve to be remembered.
People occasionally ask why I started a watch company after a military career. The answer is simple. I wanted to build something that reflected the values I spent a lifetime living: precision, reliability, integrity, and purpose. I wanted to create watches that people could wear with pride, knowing they represented more than exceptional craftsmanship, they represented the character of the person wearing them.
